African Library Project donates over 1,000 books to Mulika Foundation’s Library

We are grateful to African Library Project for having launched a Book Donation Drive for Mulika Scholarship Foundation in the United States and mobilized over 1,000 and shipped to Malawi at no cost. The African Library Project is a great partner in the African continent and Malawi in particular. They coordinate book drives in the United States and partners with African schools and villages to start small libraries. The books provided will support over 2,000 students in our rural and remote areas and help to improve quality of education and students’ academic performance.

Our students often have poor school results and low levels of literacy. By the time they go into secondary school, many of them are still hardly able read or write fluently. Inadequate educational instruction, lack of reading resources and limited exposure to books inhibit the students’ potential to excel. Books that have been mobilized will help inspire creativity, spark imagination, generate a thirst for knowledge for our students and expose them to a broad range of information and experience.
