Our merit and need based scholarship application is open every year from July to September. The Foundation launched its scholarship programme in 2016, with six scholars being supported which has now increased to 15. We started with three schools; namely Bunga, Khondowe and Usisya but we have recently added Mzgola. We hope to expand and start similar initiatives in all rural parts of our country. We support talented, intelligent and adept children from families with limited financial resources arising from difficult circumstances and who are attending poorly equipped rural primary schools to pursue their secondary education by working with them to reach their potential.
To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must have received admission from one of the five community day secondary schools that we are supporting, have maintained outstanding academic achievement (a minimum average of B+ or higher) and be from financially challenged family.
Our emphasis on the application is a captivating personal story, explaining what impact this scholarship will have on their education.
